Yamaha FZ6 or Suzuki SV650?

Looking for a bike with a riding position like these (upright) that can get up and go.

Are there better choices as far as standard-type bikes go? I would like something that looks sporty.
Also, what would the Sv650's V-twin offer against the FZ6?
No KTM or BMW, they are out of my price range unfortunately.

the fz6 has a more upright position, less aggressive so it's more comfortable than the sv650

the sv650 v-twin has its power spread throughout the range which means more torque and that makes the sv650 a worse bike to start on, not the worst but not as easy as the fz6

the fz6 is an inline 4 and although it has more hp, its power is more in the higher revs which makes it easier to learn on and less torque so the throttle isn't so twitchy for new riders

just get any bike that you are actually comfortable sitting on first.
if you haven't, go sit on a few and look at some of the older sport bikes like honda's f series (f1-f4i), they're very comfortable to sit and ride on, quite tame as long as you aren't in onver your head

or even the r6 w/ their perky 3 system switch which can change to different riding conditions/styles
