Yamaha F310 Help!!!!?

I have a Yamaha F310 Acoustic guitar, and is a Folk Guitar and came with Folk strings but I need to change the strings, Do the strings have to be Folk or Yamaha or can i just buy the best Medium Gauge strings my shops sells.
