yamaha blaster i have a 92 with an 06 bottom do i need to put on the 06 wiring harness?

bike runs but bogs down and also back fires.
could it be a bad plug cause i rode it for two hurs with new plug then it started smokin bad and wouln't run right anymore it has a new piston and rings so their not bad
