Yahoo go

Hi all,
I first had this on my N70 and loved it and then it was on my N73 and still loved it as it gave me the simplest set up and allowed me to load pictures directly to my Yahoo albums from my phone plus gave me proper push E-Mail. I can still download my Yahoo Mail no problems just not as slick and i do miss it. As far as there not being a lot of 3rd party apps for S60 3rd Edition that certainly has changed just wouldn't advise loading too many in fact i would advise to only load what you really need to aid the smooth running of your smartphone. As the newer incarnations of Symbian are very different from what we are used to re Ram management and usage IMO. The only apps i have added are Handy Taskman &Safe and Tom Tom 6.

It is nice to read that the N70 and now the N73 has allowed you the peace of mind and confidence in Nokia products. However, the lack of S60 3rd Edition products along with e-mail clients such as Yahoo, hotmail and others playing catch up whenever new advanced generations of software is developed for symbian is appalling. I did finally got ?inbox.com POP3 access to work on my N93. Yahoo does not offer POP3 in its free version

What is really unusual is that the Yahoo go! Website only lists the "N-series" 70, 72 and 90 along with various 6000's. However, nothing about the N71, N73, N80 or 3250 is listed. Would someone help me to understand this?
 
I think those are the devices that are supposed to have the app preinstalled on them. At least I know according to the press release the N80 Internet Edition was definately supposed to come preinstalled with it.
 
works like it did on my 6681. except for some reason i dont get audible notes when i get new mail. the connections program is not a separate app like it was in my 6681 version. also i hate how it double asks you when you want to exit the app or messenger app...."do you really want to exit..." of course i do!

there's tons of stuff they could have added but it seems like a fairly straight port (itd be nice to have an rss reader or be able to change/add to the default links on the homepage). overall, no complaints from me tho. like i said ive been searching for weeks for this and finally found it last friday.

edit: has not crashed once or had any problems with connections. yes, its working good for me.
 
I wish Google would jump on this bandwagon. I'd love to see better implementation of Gmail and GoogleTalk and other Google services with my s60 phone. It's all freakin open API, why the heck not?
 
Updated the catalog and Yahoo! Go is now listed. I had to have T-Mobile's Total Internet to download it but it did install just fine on my N73 tonight. So far it's working just like it was on my N70.
 
hi krazykritter, glad you got the program too (officially available now lol). quick question for you: do you get audible notification w/ new emails or only the pop up window notification? i also decided to update the download program and saw it last nite.

You and me both i just tried to install it last night unlike you mine did install just didn't show up anywhere really got excited for a while then returned to disappointment. I just don't get why and how it works on these other S60 3rd Edition phones but not the N93 as although i can still send and receive e-mails miss not being able to upload photos straight to my Yahoo photos from the phone along with the other useful features.

I experienced the same disappointment as you and I don't understand either why other 3rd Ed phones support it but not the N93. Since a few days ago I now have a (free) POP3 e-mail account with inbox.com and the service is excellent. POP3 e-mail from Yahoo is not free and as long as others like Gmail and inbox are available, the masses will most likely choose what is free and easy.
