Yahoo Go! Beta Bug?

I've been using the Yahoo Go! Beta for two whole days now. I've noticed that when used over wi-fi, it does not disconnect the wlan connection when the program exits. My wlan settings are set so that it should disconnect once i exit the program. Has any1 else faced this issue?

I'm using a Nokia E50 and I have the same problem except that mine won't disconnect from GPRS/EDGE connection. I have to manually disconnect the connection. All the other programs I've used automatically disconnects GPRS/EDGE upon exit. I'm guessing it's either a bug or "feature." I have since deleted the program from my phone.

abhi,

I was wondering, from your 2 days of using it, have you noticed any change from the original, .sis version of Yahoo Go? (did you ever use the original version?).

I'm using the version that came with my n80, which works perfectly, and I'm on some waiting list to try the beta of 2.0, but I'm not sure if I want to screw with a good thing!

Thanks,

I haven't used the earlier version. The reason why I use the app is due to Yahoo Local, Yahoo Entertainment and Weather integration which I use a lot on my comp. The app is implemented well in terms of usability, but this wi-fi issue is irritating. The app is slow (beta version) and plagued with "Connection Errors" at regular intervals (for no apparent reason).

I could use Google Maps and MWeather instead of Yahoo Go Local and Weather, but I'm yet to find a good substitute for Yahoo Entertainment.

I'm surprised that Yahoo doesn't have a feedback system in place, especially since the app is in beta.

Its a free download. You might see a msg saying that the beta is currently full, just leave your number there and you'll receive a msg from them is about 2-3 days saying ur download is ready.

Hey guys,

I have the original Yahoo! Go with Nokia N70. It has Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Calendar sync. So if I add a meeting calendar from my N70, it will update Yahoo Calendar and vice versa.

I just downloaded Yahoo! Go 2.0 Beta yesterday and notice there are no Calendar nor Messenger on it. Is there a trick somewhere to make this available? or Yahoo just don't give this out with the 2.0 beta?

Thanks.

afaik, there is no calendar or messenger available. I think you should be using the older version. As the app stands right now, its not good enough to be a proper upgrade.
