y tu mama tambien

Great Film. I'm a big fan of Gael Garcia Bernal, Bad Education, The Motorcycle Diaries and Science of Sleep are even better, definately worth checking out if you haven't seen them. Really diverse actor. Haven't seen The King yet, some people have said its not one of his best? I should take a look anyway.

Also who has seen Pan's labyrinth...it was really bugging me when I saw it at the cinema beause I knew I recognised the actress who played Mercedes, took me ages to realise it's the same woman from Y tu Mama Tambien!

I've seen all the movies SteveOwen has suggested, and it's going to be difficult to steer you to the best choice. Gael Garcia Bernal is such a diverse actor that each role he performs is completely different!

"Bad Education", for example, is a 'darker' movie, but in the hanRAB of Pedro Almod

Hello

Another Gael Garci Bernal fan here. Loved Y Tu Mama Tambien and Amores Perros but my favourite movie of Bernal's is The Motorcycle Diaries. Not only is it a great movie, but the absolute gorgeous Mia Maestro is also in it lol and boy is she stunning :D

I was a little disappointed overall. It promised a lot but too often the style got the better of the substance. A lot more thoughtful than most Hollywood films though, and commendably candid.

I don't get the whole Road Trip comparison either. The basic premise aside the films have virtually nothing in common.

Saw this on Channel 4 last night (I was doing A2 coursework so the opening scene certainly distracted me), and found the film absolutly beautiful!
The way in which it moved from the clearly sex orientated opening to the gut wrenchingly sad ending really moved me. Had never heard of it but will certainly by it on DVD.

It's unusual for me to watch any film more then a couple of times. But I have seen this at least 10 times, didn't know it was on last night or would have watched it again. Most definitely my favorite foreign film ever.
