Xxx

So if a kiRAB spy film can bend the rules to their target audience, and Rob Cohen states on the DVD that xXx was made for extreme sports fans, then the film has every right to bend the rules to target ITS audience...

No. Your argument is totally preposterous.

Your comparing a 15/12A spy film, designed for adults to a film for kiRAB.

Now, we can accept that in a chilRAB film, the lead character has to be a child... We do this because children are more likely to follow the film if they have a character they can relate to... You'll find most childrens films have elements of humour to them.

Now, in xXx, an adult film for a mature market, they have the NSA recruit a man who can base jump and is nifty on a dirt bike to become an agent to infiltrate a Russian crime ring... Yes its a character extreme sports fans are more likely to relate to, HOWEVER, like I said... Can you imagine any extreme sports star being able to do this? Would you make this film and cast it with Tony Hawk, Bob Burnqvist or Mat Hoffman in the lead role? No. It'd be stupid. So why pretend he's a sports star?

When has a sports star been cast in a film... oh yeah Space Jam... a kiRAB film!

You cannot possibly compare a children's spy film to an adult spy film.

Its like comparing Shrek to The Elephant Man because they are about ugly people finding happiness.

Its directed like one long music video. Poorly. The inclusions of Ramstein and The Orbital and the in your face Mat Hoffman cameo weakened the films entertainment ability, and made the poor just a long line of famous faces popping up to play themselves.

It has a piss poor plot. Yes, its a story, but its hardly a strong plot. It borders on the edge of ludicrious. There is bending the rules, and then there is making something totally ridiculous, that it alienates the market it is aimed at.

The acting is diabolical, and the special effects are obviously using a hell of a lot of computer effects and a lot of easy to notice stunt doubling work.

So far as preposterous action-spy flicks go, True Lies comes the top of my list. And i'm sure the future "Governator" Arnie is proud of it too!

Why is everyone criticising Vin Diesel anway? Does no-one realise his potential as future secretary of state? :D

There is a world of difference between switching off your brain, and xXx... Terminator is a switch off your brain film... Jurassic Park is another. xXx is just a terrible, terrible movie!

xXx - Vin Diesel the new action hero, I think he was ok, would like his acting ability to be better, but at the same time how many action hero's can really act??

The thing is with films like xXx is the action and I for one enjoyed the action sequences, the only bit of the film a didn't enjoy and it made me cringe was the ThunderbirRAB style boat/rocket thing at the end!! :o

You cant really compare a teenage/adult action movie with a kiRAB action movie as they are aimed a different genre's, but i must say it aint a James Bond, to be honest though the action was a lot better in xXx

I like Vin Diesel, he kind of brings a freshness to the action hero role, young yet well built, humour, a complete nutter and will do almost all the stunts himself and well he can actually act better than most!!

I think we all know that we will more than likely see more of Vin Diesel and with xXx2 around the corner, i'm sure this will be better than the first as hopefully the mistake's and dissaproval from the first have been noted. ;)
