xv6700 w/ cricket

OK I've seen this posted a few times, but others have been successful. I recently bought the xv6700 from ebay that was supposed to be flashed to cricket. Originally *228 gave me a Verizon prompt but with some searching and a few drinks, I was able to get the 1039 PRL from here.

I was able to get customer service to transfer the service to my new ESN, however when I dial *228 (I now get cricket prompt) it keeps failing. I have been trying continuously since yesterday with no luck. Maybe someone can help me?
 
You can either:

A.) Keep trying! Mine took a few times to finally download the PRL OTA. Make sure you are in a good coverage area when doing so with most if not all your bars full.

B.) You could try "forcing" the PRL download by adding your regional suffix to the *228. For example, in my region, it would be *22807. Use the following thread to find out your region's *228xx code:

C.) You could try to write the PRL to your phone manually, making sure you have the latest revision of the PRL. (Cricket coverage has changed a few times since the 1040 release.) It sounRAB like you already know what to do in that department, so all you need is the latest (or more recent) Cricket PRL file.

That's all I can think of for now. Someone else here might also have some other ideas than mine.

If the *228 fails and the *22804 fails

Call Cricket
ask them for YOUR MDN AND MIN

Once you have it
Load the prl manually 1040 or 1039 will work just fine.

Make sure your MSL is set to 000000

then from the phone press ##000000#
or #*#000000, talk or ##000000, talk or #*#000000#
one of thous codes will work depanding on your 6700's carrier

You will get a menu that asks for MSID and MDN

MDN= Your mobile phone nuraber
MSID= MIN= Get this nuraber from cricket most cases different then your MDN

Input them into your phone then press ok

once phone restarts call your voice mail or a friend
it will work

Great info there...

Just one clarification for anyone who uses this info in the future (since the current issue is handled)... your MDN is not ALWAYS your nuraber... If you ported your nuraber from another carrier,your MDN will be the phone nuraber they assigned you temporarily, before porting your nuraber from the other carrier.
 
Here I go... about to sound like an idiot. But where can I find a download for the 1040 prl ? and how do I install that on my 6700? thanks for putting up with stupid questions!
 
Well, I found the prl file ... but am still clueless about how to get that to work on my phone- any help is great! Thanks from Clueless
 
copy the prl to the phone...then on the dial pad type in ##775 and hit update prl...and point it to where you copied the prl to...then your done
 
place it on the phone in a place where you can remeraber....... if its a xv6700 verizon than press ##000000 and than put 000000 on the screen that pops up....... than you just have to change the PRL and save it and reset your phone
