xv6700 OMG please HELP!

Heres the deal...

I bought a xv6700 and the damn guy updated the rom with this "version XV6700 AKU3.3 upgrade" and utstarcom says that once this is done you can't go backwarRAB on the roms.. guess what they must be right because I can't load any rom into my device without this error message " error 201 : get device data error or error 150 : rom upgrade utility error"

This is what i've done in steps...

hard-reset (once it loaRAB back up soft-reset before customs)
Start boot loader mode
then apply the rom ( helmi's wm6 kitchen and tried APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket)


Please if anyone has seen or come across this and knows what to do please please please tell me...

I don't know a ton about this subject, but I have seen it discussed at PPCGeeks.com. Look around over there on the Apache forum and I think you'll find what you're looking for.
 
Well I have gone from WM6 to WM5 and back a bunch of times, so I know you can go back and forth on roms. Maybe try and dload the Verizon updated rom from their support site and see if that fixes it. Other than upgrading roms does the phone work ok?
 
I think that people who are fans of custom ROMs are being advised not to install that latest Verizon update. I'm pretty sure there's a way to still install custom ROMs once the new bootloader is installed, but I think it's at least a little bit more difficult.
