XV6600 on Cricket

I had to share this with everyone, I reciently got a XV6600 of e-bay and took it to a local cell phone store...the next day the guy called me and said the "Verizon 6600" has been Cricketized! My wife was upset that I had a better phone so I let her pick out a phone off ebay, and she got a Therea 2032SP. Again I took it to the local cell store and that one took 4 days before they called me to say it was now "Cricketized" too. :2thurabs:

Anyway, my wife's phone (2032SP) will do the *228 and be fine, but my Audiovox 6600 fails on the *228. I know the correct codes to manually load the PRL file, but the "Tech Support" from Cricket refuses to send me the newest PRL file, and I dont know how to extract it from the 2032. If anyone can send me the PRL file for Nashville Cricket service...I would be very happy.

I need the file so that the (mynuraber)@mms.mycricket.com will function correctly on the 6600  With the *228 on my wife's phone, she can get emails to her...now I am upset that her PDA works better than mine!? :reallysad

AWESOME!!! :clapping:

This gives me great hopes to turn a UTStarcom PPC6700 (successor to the XV660) into a Cricket phone! (In fact, my original hopes were for an XV6600.)

Let me know how this goes for you! What was the store that did the conversion for you? What's their contact information?

I sent you a PM... As for the place I had this done at, they are called Cellular for less and there nuraber is 615-251-3433. The tech there "Ken" was super cool and he can pretty do almost anything if given the time...lol. :clapping:

My wife has PRL version 1037 on her Therea 2032SP and I just dont know how to extract it, so looks like my phone might be dead till Monday... :( Unless someone has the Cricket PRL file 1037?? :crying:

yea, the 6600 and 6700 on cricket need a special prl file which has evdo or 1x on it...this prl file and 2 minutes later with ##PST and I converted another 6600 with camerea to cricket no problem.

NOTE: This is the nation wide roaming PRL for cricket with evdo for the 6600 and 6700 models.

i have uploaded the pst file but still get he verizon wireles voice when preforming the *228 what are the exact steps that i take to flash my xv6600.

Hi,

I had the SAME problem everyone else did with my Audiovox 6600. I bought it on ebay inexpensively, and it was supposedly flashed to Cricket from Verizon, but it wasn't. When I dialed *228 it would go to Verizon still. So, I took it to someone who charged me $60 to "flash it" to cricket. They were unsuccessful. So, being somewhat computer literate myself, I attempted to fix it myself. I finally was able to get it flashed over to cricket, however it will not Over-the-Air program. That doesn't matter since I have uploaded the evdo (.prl) file it needed, plus I programmed it myself for the correct town (Louisville, Kentucky for me), national, etc. I have yet to get my internet to work, however I am talking with a friend who was able to get it working on his Audiovox 6600 and we are going to do that this weekend. If anyone neeRAB help, feel free to email me at [email protected]. You will need to find out the SID nuraber for your home area town. Just google search "SID for xxxxx town" and you shoudl find it like I did. The NID is the same for everyone in the US. Again, email me if you want some help. Put "NEED HELP WITH MY AUDIOVOX 6600" in the Subject matter so I won't think it is junk mail. I will TRY to help since I personally know how difficult this was for me! Good luck
