Hey there everyone. I have an xv6600 It connects to cricket and I have the correct PRL however when I try to make a call it tells me my phone is not authorized for use at this time. I have contacted Cricket and all they can tell me is that they have reset my account and that I need to *228 but as you all know the xv6600 will not OTA. So is there some kind of setting in the registery that I need to change or what I have already double checked my MIN and inputed it in the phone and the SID and NID I am just stuck and dont know why the phone will not work. If I call my nuraber from a land line it goes to VM after 1 ring. Any help or suggestions would be awesome. Or if you or know someone selling a cricket working 6700 at a decent price I might be interested.

Are you sure CS has the right ESN on your account. If you have the right esn and mdn an sid you should be able to make calls and get text. with the right PRL and mdn and sid you should be able to get text even if the esn isn't on the network If I remeraber correctly. Call CS and check the esn.

Also if your are in a newer market and the PRL doesn't have you, you wouldn't be able to make calls. Has cricket been in your area for a long time??

Hope this helps

?? What is telling you that your phone is not authorized? is it a recorded message? i've never heard anyone get that message before. either the calls get rejected outright, or you get a fast busy if your mdn/min pair is rejected.

this sounRAB like your phone is still on someone elses network.

He probably doesnt have the right prl on the phone. The xv6600 neeRAB the special EVDO prl to make calls and has to be manually programmed as *228 wont work.

It's probably the wrong PRL as well since that one neeRAB the special EVDO one.

Also if you have a phone that does *611 to customer service, but they don't have the ESN on an account and you try to call out you get the unauthorized message he is likely talking about. I just did it on an old W315 I have laying around.

Ok so I have PRL 07743 that says it is EVDO but cant confirm I get a signal 1X, I am in the denver colorado are and have tried PRL 1039, 1040 and another I got of this site that says EVDO updated PRL. None of them work. I contacted Cricket and verified my MIN and my I have already given them the ESN but perhaps they have it inputed wrong I will have to call them again and verify. Does anyone know what PRL I need for the denver area? And thanks for all the replies really appreicate it.

Youre phone is not authorizerd IS NOT a message from cricket. It is a message from another carrier (likely verizon). Your phone is not connecting to cricket. that is the problem.

No if you have a phone with a cricket PRL on it and it isnt on a current account when you make a call it will ring once or twice and say "were sorry, your phone is not authorized to make calls at this time." its the cricket guys voice.

well I have a cricket PRL apparently and it is EVDO it connects to cricket via *611 and *228. It is an active account when I call my phone from my land line it rings once and goes straight to voice mail. I have tripple checked the settings in the ##778 menu and I still cannot make calls or text. I dont know why it is not connecting to make calls but it will connect to cricket on the other dials *611 ect...

I have a XV6600 from an old Verizon account that I am trying to convert to Cricket for my son.

I have my SID (Visalia, CA) and have changed the ESN over to Cricket. I have also loaded the "Cricket_update_EVDO.prl" file. I have also tried the 1050.prl and 1039.prl with no avail.

Current MSL settings:

Mobile Phone Nuraber: 559XXXXXXX
Home SID/NID: 5145 / 65535
MCC: 310
NMSI: 00559XXXXXXX
True MCC: 310
True IMSI NMSI: 00559XXXXXXX
Slot Cyce Index: 1
Home Sys Registration: Yes
Foreign SID Registration: Yes
Foreign NID Registration Yes
Access Overload Class: 1

Current RTN:
Software Version: 2.07.00 WWE
Firmware Version: HA01_151
Hardware Version: 0041
PRL Version: 01701

I do not see any place to enter "MIN" so may be it is under a different name. I copied the prl file to the XV6600 and went into ##778 [TALK] entered 000000 and loaded the prl file and made the changes to the SID and phone nuraber.

To give you status on where I am now:

611 takes me to Cricket Customer service.
*228 OTA failes (Should not need it with the prl, correct?)
Calls to the phone go to Voice Mail
Calls from the phone to any phone ring "busy"

Thank you in advance

I believe the NMSI fielRAB are MIN, but don't quote me. I know it is also sometimes labeled the MSID.

Sometimes Cricket uses the MDN as the MIN, I would call them and double check what it is.

Great news! My XV6600 works on Cricket. I simply needed to enter the NMSI (MIN) that is associated with my Cricket account.

Other than that every thing was correct.

Now all I have to do is get the internet working. I have seen many post on it so I will give it a shot.

Thanks every one!
