Xrays and CT scans.

How many are too many?

How much is too much? Is there a time frame on how many per year?

I have read that radiation can enter cells and ionize, or create a positive charge, in a group of molecules that were previously neutral. Ionized molecules can then damage surrounding tissues, for example, leading to mutations in DNA. Those mutations could eventually lead to cancer.

Hmmmm, I don't like the way this sounds. Could this happen with the very first CT? Is it cumulative? After five? Ten? Can they be spaced out a year or two? Can you be xray free for two years and be clear of any mutations?

Thanks.
