Xbox360 headset weirdness?

I have the standard headset you know the one that comes with the xbox360..
Well its acting strange like i can talk and hear people in a party but in game chat i cant hear anyone but they can hear me..?
Is it broken?? Is there anyway i can repair it??
 
Um im not sure why this is in the play station section but my only guess would be that you need to change a setting in your microphone options (if there are any for the 360)
