The only mikes that work on the controllers are Office mics, seeing as they use the same style of jack. I haven't tried a plain microphone though, kinda hard to hold a conversation with someone when you cant hear them talk. i broke my mic and rejoiced when i plugged in an office mic in desperation and it worked.
