My Xbox is 'chipped' so it can boot backup games, but newer games don't work. They read as DVD movies and when i tell it to load the so called 'DVD movie' it just shows an Xbox 360 logo. I think its something to do with the firmware or the disk drive, and i know a place that fixes it for 30EUR but i'd rather see if there was something i could do...
