Xbox 360 Quick Play charge kit flashes red light?

If a red light is on, then that means that the battery is charging. if a green light is on, the the battery is charged. if the red light is flashing, what does that mean?

It is plugged in all the way.. the red light flashes red 5 times then stay red for a sec.. then flashes again 5 times
my guess is that the battery is broken
 
Hmm, how long have you had it? Could it be broken by now? I really have no idea, this hasn't happened to me before.
