Xbox 360 or PS3 v.WhatshouldIPick?

Do they? I was playing coop gears of war at a buddies house and we experienced some major frame rate drops when there were a lot of enemies on screen, on his two week old 360. I dont think i've ever encountered a slowdown in Resistance. Gears of war is still tons of fun though.
 
The Xbox 360!

I've had mine since day one and it seems to get better each and every day. Add the HD-DVD drive and you have a complete entertainment system. Then get a TiVo Series3 HD unit.

GoW is average at best. It does nothing remarkable for a 3rd person shooter, other than graphics. And while technically very good, the graphcs are very dull and drab. 90% of this game could be done in greyscale and noone would notice the difference.

And then there is control. The "do everything with one button" thing is a STUPID idea.
This game really needs a dedicated jump button at least.

The only reason this game gets so much attention, is that the rest of the xbox360 games are even shittier.

btw: i actually have this game, as i am not in the habit of passing an opinion on something i havent tried for myself. UNlike the majority of the xbox sackriders on OT (and elsewhere).

PS3 has jack shit for good games right now too (and thats why i dont have one), but there are a hell of a lot more games worth playing coming for PS3. (by "worth playing" i mean NOT an endless stream of FPS/3PS crap).
 
im buying a 360 later today. Like everyone else is saying, theres really no reason to buy a ps3 right now. Ill wait 6 months to a year, then ill get a ps3.
 
I have both, if I had to get one console right now i would pick the 360. The PS3 is a really nice console, so slick and quiet and really well built. For purely games, the 360 is definately in the lead at the moment.
 
HD-DVD releases have higher image quality almost across the board. That is why HD-DVD is handily spanking Blu-Ray in the next gen format war.
