Xbox 360 or PS3 v.WhatshouldIPick?

I waited for PS3, but it seems that any good games for the PS3 won't be coming out until next year... or at least for a long time. Is there any reason why I should get a PS3 now instead of an Xbox 360? Also, are there any bugs that the PS3 has now? I am assuming that the 360 has most of its bugs worked out by now.

my ps3 jittery bug seemed to be only happening the first day, the thing has not had a problem ever since. It was where whenever I watched a blu ray movie, it would freeze and reboot.

Well at least all the 360 people are happy with their consoles... its encouraging not hear anybody bash their system. Sounds like they are having fun.

I wasn't too thrilled w/ the 360 up until last month. Not to say it didn't have good games...there were definitley some good games, but there just wasn't that one game that made me go "damn, I'm glad I have a 360!". Then Gears of War came out and that's all over. I'd reccomend getting the 360 just to play it.

The Wii is fun as hell right out of the box though...but you didn't ask about that

The PS3 is giving me flashbacks to the 360 launch though....there aren't any games out right now that really make it worth your while to own the system for.

I have both systems so hopefully I can be objective. All I really have to say is that assuming you will get both eventually anyway, hold off on the PS3. There aren't any good games right now and the only real reason to have one now is for Resistance. Now if you're also in the market for a Bluray player, that changes everything. I actually bought the PS3 now so I could watch HD movies now without having to buy a 360 HD Drive, since I knew I'd have a PS3 eventually anyway, that seemed like the best route for me. (I hope BluRay wins cause it is better, I don't know how you can argue that.) If you're only getting one system however, I'd still stick with the 360. By the time the HD DVD drive is obsolete, assuming BluRay wins, you will be able to transfer all your HD DVDs to Bluray (I hope).

As for the bugs, I havent had any problems with my 360 since January (got a new one) and I'm actually sending in my PS3 for a replacement tomorrow.

Own a 360 and PS3 also.

I love my 360 and it has some great games on it and will have to wait till March for the PS3 to get some games.

360 - Much better community feel to it. Love the achievements and the ability to just see my friends online and the web portal. A con is that it is SO loud and just seems like a fragile unit. I'm on my second and feel like it is only a matter of time till it breaks.

PS3 - Free online but really lacks in community features. Needs many of the updates the 360 got after it launched (able to download stuff in the background). Unit is big and solid. Has a better quality feel to it and is QUIET.

Well, for now I think I'm leaning towards a 360... and maybe buy a PS3 later. I really want a system to play right now. The reason for this thread is for someone to tell my why I should just buy a PS3, but I'm thinking I'll just wait.

I just got my ps3 yesterday, and so far so good. I like it. The 360 never got my attention. Im not a huge gamer, im more into the old school games, like ninja gadien, punch out, mario, and stuff like that. My ds gets more playing time than my ps2. I play alot of sport games though, like madden, fifa, and fight night.

I got the ps3 for its blu ray potential, and beacuse its going to have some nice games in the future something i can wait for. I got like 5 games for it, Fight night rnd 3 very nice game i like it better on the ps3 than the ps2, Madden 07 i have to get use to, resistance i havent played the story mode but i did play multiplayer with a buddy it was pretty fun cant wait to play it online. Ridge racer havent opened, and the marvel game i havent opened as well.

Also got the Tallgeda nights blu ray with it, it looked pretty sharp on my 24" sony crt with s-video. So i can only imainge what it will look like on my pionner elite with hdmi.

So far i like the ps3 played for 3 hours no problems.

360, it's not even a question. PS3 won't be worth buying for at least 6 months.

As far as Blu-Ray goes....it's stupid to base your buying decision of a videogame console on HD Movies. Especially when we're right in the middle of a format war....and there isn't a clear winner yet. Although it appears that HD-DVD has the lead, and will win.

If you can wait, get a 360 now. Though they don't have THAT many more titles that are like "OMG, must have", Gears of War certainly is the killer app for the holidays. If you like College football, NCAA is a good game... though it slowed down on my system. The PS3 will be better as time progresses but outside of a few titles (FoM, Fight Night), that's pretty much it.

Dang, you guys are just convincing me to buy both. That and I'm looking at 360 bundles on Costco.com. Well, I'm just going to buy 360 now and PS3 when Metal Gear and SOCOM come out.
