Xbox 360 Oblivion GOTY edition extra content and the Xbox Slim?

Well, i got the new xbox and want to install the extra content from the GOTY edition of oblivion. Well when i put the disk in and try to install it, it says i need an external hardrive to install it. Well the new xbox 360s dont have an external, so i put my 8gb flash drive in and tried installing it again, it didnt work. So i have an idea. Could I go to my old 360, put in my flash drive, copy the extra content onto the flash drive, bring my flash drive to my new xbox, copy it onto my hard drive and then play oblivion with the new content? Would that work? do you have any other suggestions? thanks
