xbox 360 headset question?

i just order an xbox 360 wired headset from ebay and i was wondering exactly how it works. i wanna use it for cod waw.do i just talk into it and other people will here me or do i wait for a specific time or do i press a button or something??????

If it is the official Xbox 360 headset, you just plug it into your Xbox 360 controller, and you can talk through it. No hassle.

Anyone you purchased should work fine; likely wired it plugs into the controller and is equipped with a mute and volume level switch on the cord (unless you bought Mad Catz new headset). You will be able to hear anyone speak that is in your chat group. i.e. your team/party or the person in private chat with you. Anytime you speak you will be heard and anytime another person speaks you will hear them provided you do not have that individual muted.
