Xbox 360 and windows media player?

i connnected my xbox 360 to my computer via windows media player but for some reason i cant play videos i think ive tried every thing i allowed media sharing and i dowloded the newest codec pack for windows media player i can see pictures and play music that are on my computer via my xbox 360 but wheneveer i try to play a video it say that i dont have the codec requred or the file is corruptted and it cant be either because the video iam trying to play plays on my computer perfectly soo i need help realllly bad
