xanox what is a safe dose?

I'm have really bad problems with my girl friend I'm just freaking out so I'm prescribed xanax but i need more of it to work how much would be dangerous to take I'm no suicidal I'm just going crazy panic attack xanax usually works but i have to take 12mg to get it to calm me down is that to much
 
Man I can not tell you a safe dose because it is best to phone the doc and let him know that his original dose is not helping you. Try to calm down. Pace or do whatever, just don't do it with more xanax. That is the trouble with that drug, it takes more and more and on a fairly quick basis. Deep breath... sincerely, searchin I know what I am talking about.
 
Definitely call your doctor and let him know that the dose he prescribed is not working. I take Klonopin, which is also a benzo, and it says the max of it for anxiety is 4 mg per day. 12 mgs of Xanax sounRAB like an awful lot. My doctor has prescribed 2 mgs per day at most for me, and I don't go over that without calling him. It's very dangerous to mess with these drugs on your own. Not to mention you run out of your meRAB early. Good luck, and please communicate with your doctor. Also, the dosage your doctor wants you to take should be on the bottle.
