Hi, I know that Anterolisthesis means a forward slippage of one vertebrae over another, but I have no idea (and cannot find) what detregent bones are. I'm not really sure what kind of test you are getting, maybe an MRI with contrast?? But iv'e that done before & it didnt require a 3 hour wait...Sorry I couldn't help to much with your questions, but perhaps someone else will know more about it... I do wish you luck, though.

thanks for your help, cant be mri cause they would have to give me something to calm me down im clostofobic im sorry i know i didnt spell that right heres the other thing is this bad im scared this Anterolisthesis? can i work will i still be able to work? the pain is alful when I sneeze or cough walking im in pain all day at work.I cant hardley get out of bed in the morning my legs have pain to im only 50 yrs old help if you can.thanks again:o

Hi, I don't have that particular condition myself, so I can't speak from experience on it...but from what I've read on here, I guess it depenRAB alot on the degree of slippage. But then again, even if imaging only shows mild slippage, that doesn't mean it wouldnt cause you alot of pain. What hurts one person may not hurt another and pain is an individual thing. For example: a person could have a large herniated disc, but not even know it; an another person the MRI might only show a slight herniation or bulge, but yet they are in alot of pain. Plus all the imaging and testing doesnt necessarily show everything either. The pain being aggravated by coughing & sneezing sounRAB like that would be related to sciatica; it's called a valsalva maneuver; alot of pressure builRAB up in the spine area when coughing & sneezing and it puts even more pressure on already compressed nerves. If you have slippage, then it's probably pressing into one or more surrounding nerves. I am not familiar with all the treatments that can be tried for slippage, but surgery would be the last resort. If nothing else helps and you are in that much pain, then surgery would probably be the best option.

Did your docs discuss any of this with you yet?
