So I'm on ANN today reading this weeks "RIGHT TURN ONLY!!" article about the latest manga and I come across this little entry

Now, I didn't give it a second glance but while in the forums they had a link to some preview pictures which you can see below

Now, that is just....amazing. I mean, ignoring the bishounen everywhere the fact that they somehow made Beast this cuddly thing really is the standout point. I do like how Storm looks totally badass. And had a chibi-moment! Other than that, I'm not exactly sure what to think of this. Also, how long has this been out?

(I did however giggle at Kitty's image of Professor X "All your secrets are Mine!")

LOL, X-MEN the shojo manga. Oh god. Japan, what have you done!

ROFL at Magneto as a bishounen teacher. And Angel, shes underage.

The Professor can WALK?!

I think I'll read this just for the laughs.

i read..er i mean skimmed over this in my local book store, it says X-men on the cover...but THIS THIS THING...IS NOT X-MEN!!!

Yea the wolverine manga is GOOD, but this this is just so so wrong, turning marvel hero's into bishi pretty boys OY VEY...Im honestly more worried about this then the Marvel/Disney joint.

Seriouly though IMO, if your goin to buy one of the Marvel OEL's Deffinantly Pick up Wolverine over this, I mean I knew from the start it was shojo, but still i expected somthing a lil more..i don't know....X-menish...i mean the ratio is basically 70% Shojo 3o% X-men, Very Dissapointing to a long time MALE X-men Fan such as myself...But I realize this one was made for the ladies, & I guess I can let it slide, I am a fair man & Magnosiroth does look pretty cool. LULZ.

Still though was hoping for ore X then Shojo i guess.

"Oh God, Japan, what have you done" indeed.

Not my cup of tea but it definitely fits the shojo genre quite well and I will give it a ton of points for being a truly different take on X-Men. If anything can make X-Men appeal to teenage girls it's this.

Kitty is together with Pyro!??, Why Pyro of all people!!! (hes a good guy in this?)

What you talking about, Japan got nothing to do with this, this is one of those OEL things, its all western made!

Yes, because if there's one thing teen girls want to read about, it's X-Men.

I was hoping this would never see the light of day. Instead, we've got one of those late nite brainstorms from Joe Q and frienRAB, the same type that produced stuff like One More Day, and more Wolverine spinoRAB than there are shoujo titles. No one is happy with the end result.

Marvel nerRAB- That's not X-Men! It's crappy Japan stuff!

Shoujo fans- X-Men? Eww!

Wolverine- So, what's my role in this story?

Joe Q- Stand still, look cool, and help us sell the book.

Wolverine- Whatever.

Really, the concept is doomed from the start. This makes Wolverine and the X-Men look like Justice League.

Personally, I don't see why not. X-Men fans have a veritable horde of titles to read, so what's the problem? There's also the much-acclaimed Spider Girl, which isn't a manga like this but still seems to have the same basic goal. Maybe comic fans can explain why it's different, but I can't see it.

And nothing will ever be as bad as One More Day. Not that I'm bitter or anything.....okay, I really still am.

Yeah, Xavier actually walking really just made me go "Okay, what the heck is this?"
Shojo manga. One furry cuddly creature in every serial. (She couldn't have just had a talking cat could she?)

Yeah, it's really one of those things that make me think less of a Japanese take on the subject and more like what someone thinks a Japanese take on X-Men would be like.

And as I've noted in the past, the Nadesico author did a run on X-Men. It was like any other X-Men run. It wasn't chock full of cliches like the damn Mangaverse was (please Linkara, rip it apart). Why do people equivalate manga with worthless cliches?

With all those pointy chins, I don't think they need Wolverine on the team anymore.

Honestly, I couldn't identify about half of the mutants showcased in that manga.
