X Men Origins:Wolverine

I liked it, but Deadpool was completely wrong. Ryan ReynolRAB as Wade was awesome, but when it got to the Weapon XI part - well, it just wasn't Deadpool.

After reading the poor reviews I went to cinema with very low expectations for this movie but was pleasantly surprised so 7/10

Not as good as Singer's X-Men movies but much better than The Last Stand and it has whetted my appetite for some more Origins with the other characters who made only brief appearances.

I have an question about a particular scene towarRAB the end.

I got the impression that the Patrick Stewart scene towarRAB the end of the film was perhaps shot separately. There was the close up shot of him.The long shot of him with the students walking towarRAB him looked as if he was superimposed.I may well be wrong about this. But that was the impression i got when i saw the scene.

Coming so soon after 'Watchmen' did the exact same thing with it's opening titles, i was considerably less impressed with Wolverine's effort, and quite frankly i would have liked to have actually seen Logan and Victor fighting in those wars as opposed to just a few brief slow motion snap-shots.

He was clearly digitally composed. Its the new advance in computer technology which allows acting without actors. Expect to see it in Terminator if we see Arnie as well.

PLUS!!! wolverine's claws were clearly CGI - they didn't even look 'there' whereas in the first 2 x men films they were physical props.

how on earth can effects get WORSE??

CGI is ruining so many films. back to stunts and props please

I really enjoyed this film for what it was. It wasn't quite the epic depiction of Logan's life I was expecting, but as a comic book film, its was good fun. I'd happily watch it again. X2 is still the best of the X-Men films, though.

Thinking of X2, I did spot a minor continuity problem. I'll put it in spoiler tages, jst in case;

In X2, Stryker made a statement about how he always thought Logan was one of a kind, but he was wrong...just before unleashing Deathstrike on him; a mutant with identical powers. However, Wolverine showed Stryker dealing with mutants like Sabretooth and Deadpool, who had similar abilities. It didn't seem to quite quite fit

Looks like they're going to be doing a sequel about Wolverines time in Japan which will be good - I just wish they go for a higher rating rather than sticking to a 12a

I haven't seen Watchmen. Perhaps that would have coloured my judgement somewhat.

Bad CGI is ruining so many films. In a lot of films these days, CGI is used and you wouldn't even really know it.

I agree about Wolverine's claws though. In many shots it didn't look as if they were really there. There was bad CGI throughout the film.

Yeah I thought that too! It looked like he wasn't even real, like CGI or something.

Overall I thought the film was pants. I particularly disliked the ending. Definitely not worth a cinema trip, I wish i'd gone to see Hannah Montana instead! :D

It's a shame really because I usually love X-Men.

I actually liked this more than the reviews would have the believe.

The plot was fast-paced, and also quite brutal in places. I was surprised to see so many characters get killed off. The story actually went somewhere too, unlike the rest of the X-Men movie franchise.

That wasn't quite what I meant. Stryker was clearly aware of other mutants, because his son was one and he'd taken him to Xavier's school. What I meant was

In X2, Stryker seemed to be implying that Wolverine's healing power was believed to be unique, until he found Lady Deathstrike. But in Wolverine he's also got Sabretooth on his team, with the same power and later goes on to build Weapon XI - aka Deadpool - with the same healing ability AND adamantium skeleton.

Went to see it today and I really enjoyed it and it was a lot better than X-Men: The Last Stand which was dissapointing to say the least. Hugh Jackman was great as Logan, Liev Shrieber was also great as Sabretooth but is was Ryan ReynolRAB who made the film as Deadpool.

I do wonder what they could follow up the film, I have heard rumours of X-Men: First Class.
