X-Men 4?

Any news on this movie? Is it going to happen or will it just be movies concentrating on characters like Wolverine, Magneto and Storm?

I really hope they do continue the franchise with all the cast members and director returning.
 
It's likely to be made, but not until the Wolverine and Magneto movies are.

Halle Berry has said she believes, and hopes, it will be made, whereas Hugh Jackman doesn't think there should be. Despite the events of X-Men 3, it has deliberately set up the possibility of an X4.
 
A while back Movies.go.com reported that X4 is to be directed by Brett Ratner ('Rush Hour', 'Red Dragon', 'X3') and focus more on the younger characters such as Iceman and Pyro as the older ones are busy with their own spinoff movies being released this year, such as 'Magneto' and 'Wolverine'.
Ages ago RAB also quoted Hale Berry as wanting to return after her bigger role in X3.
 
Well it's been rumoured that X4 would focus on Storm and Beast forming the New X-Men with Iceman, Angel, Shadowcat and Colossus (and perhaps Rogue).

Wolverine would take place 17 years before X-Men, and include Stryker and Sabretooth.

Magneto is meant to be set all over- like a life story.
 
I've just remembered - on Movies.go.com back in the day when Bryan Singer was to direct X3 it was reported that Sigourney Weaver would play Emma Frost. A while later it was rumoured that an Emma Frost spinoff movie would also be released around the time of 'Wolverine' and 'Magneto'.
I'm not sure if any plans have developed for this however it is possible that the character could appear in X4.
 
It was rumoured that they are going to do a movie with the younger members of the team. Which could be true because apparently, some of them have contracts that bind them to making 4 X-men movies.
 
It seems like X Men 4 wont happen according to this on Superherohype:

I'm sorry but a Wolverine film sounRAB boring to me and as much as I love Hugh Jackman...everything in the three X-Men films released has centered on his character, a little too much for my liking!!!


I'd love a 4th film, with all the cast members there and more emphasis on the other X-Men....let Storm do more, have Rogue do something for goRAB sakes and also introduce Gambit!
 
i think x4,5 and 6 could happen following the younger characters (generation x anyone?) brett ratner said this trilogy was over but the x-men story certainly isnt.

fox might not be making marvel films for much longer aswell if rumours are real, marvel want to make the filmsthemselves and get universal to distribute when the fox contract runs out soon.
 
I hope they dont get the director of X3 to do it, and the writers need a good kick up the bum too. X3 had so much potential, but was such a let down, it suffered from TMVS (Too Many Villians Syndrom)...and Vinnie Jones....oh god i hate that man. And Phoenix storyline was handled badly too. She could destroyed San Fransico in a blink of an eye....
 
Venom and Spiderman 3 anyone? Seems that number 3 of a Super Hero franchise is turning out to be the worst for classic characters from the comics. Personally I'd love to see an X-Gen film, but feel it will also be ruined.
