X-Men 3

Lots of rumours flying round at the moment that Vinnie Jones is up for the role of Juggernaut.

Vinnie has the attitude and the inital look, with some decent CGI I think he'll fit the part well.

Gah, it was anoying seeing the trilogy boxset in the shop because it has the first X-Men movie special editon DVD, which was 1.5 or something? I only have the 1-disc version from back in 2000. *rubs hanRAB together* hmmm. But then again it also had the 2-disc X2 DVD's which I already have.

According to Aintitcool.com Matthew Vaughn, the Director of Layer Cake, Producer of Snatch and Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels is to direct X Men 3!

Alan Cumming has said that he'll be back for "X-Men 3", and that he's expecting to be on-set in June.

"I signed for two films, so I'm going to. The last I heard is that we're starting on the 20th of June, but they don't have a script or a director yet so that may be pushed a little bit. But they have to release it in May of 2006 for some reason so it's gonna be shot in the summer," Cumming said.

"And it's one of these things, I kind of just want to know I'm going to do it cause it affects your whole life. You can do other things cause you know that it's a large amount of time; I'm going to a show on Broadway which I moved to January of next year just to make sure I finished X-Men…Every film you do you have to tell them just in case they're going to get it together really fast. You're under some options; it's quite weird."

No worries. It's not bad spelling per se - as her surname could be spelt Gray or Grey. I've just been a fan of the X-Men since I was a 9-year-old and am now a stickler for detail, that's all! Apologies... :)

So now they have confirmed that X3 will have a doctor developing a serum to 'cure' mutants. And they've said that Halle Berry will get a bigger role. Do we think Storm will get kidnapped and threatened as a test subject for the serum? Or will it be a more active, empowering role?

Patrick Stewart has been talking about X3 "We have shot five days on 'X-Men 3,'" he said "It's wonderful," he continued. "Already some amazing things have been put in the can, some surprises, one surprise which will never even appear in a script form. We've just shot it. It's so secret, that there was never, ever allowed anything to be on paper about it." He then talked about the new director Brett Ratner "I think Brett Ratner is going to do a fantastic job on this movie. He's an extraordinary, gifted man, and I think the perfect choice to direct X3. We miss Bryan Singer, of course, because this is the man that launched this franchise so outstandingly."

Shauna Kain (Siryn), Bryce Hodgson (Artie), Conner Widows (Jones) and Luke Pohl (X-Kid) have joined the cast all reprising their roles from X2 in X3.

Also Vinnie Jones has already been in Vancouver for a costume fitting but he won't return until September to start filming his role as Juggernaut!

Wolverine screenwriter David Benioff has been talking about the spin off film

The screenwriter says he wrote the film with Hugh Jackman in mind, of course. “Other than the height, I think Jackman was inspired casting,” he says. “Though, when he was first picked for the role, I thought, “Huh?’ at the time, probably along with most Wolverine fans. Now I can’t really imagine Wolverine being played by anyone else: Jackman’s performance obviates consideration of anyone else for the part.”

He also talked about the storyline of the film “I’m going to stay away from the ‘Four Riders’ kind of stories and the science fiction stories where he was battling aliens or demons”, says the writer. “I’m sticking with something more realistic. Of course it is kind of hard to talk realism when you’re speaking about a guy who has adamantium claws popping out of this hanRAB. But my concept of him for this movie is the one I grew up with: He’s a gritty character, a tough, working-class Canadian guy who was born with certain special powers and granted more through a series of brutal experiments – for more that’s my Wolverine reality. I’m not going too far from that.”

I am looking forward to this film as much as I am looking forward to X3!

Yeah you're spot on about Morph. He wasn't in the comic books and was invented just for the animated series (I think so they could have that deserter character and his eventual return and redemption as a long running story arc).

There are literally hundreRAB of characters they could bring in in the future. As they've done with X3, they could simply build upon the more minor, cameo characters introduced in the first two films (Shadowcat). I was suprised they didn't make more of Jubilee in the films actually, and thought she'd have been a worthy addition to the main X-Men ensemble in the third movie, especially as she was a background in both the previous movies. In fact, i think there's a deleted scene of Jubilee in the second movie using her powers in the museum.

Although i think the younger X-Men are the way to go, they do need to bump up their adult, teacher characters. Emma Frost would have been a good one,

Appartently it has been reported at the Armageddon convention in Wellington in Australia, actor Ray Park said he was in negotiations with the producers to reprise the role of Toad in X3 as you never really saw him die in the first movie!
Also Vinnie Jones will have to wear a will wear a four-stone latex suit to boost his muscles when he plays Juggernaut in X3!

Yeah you are right as Richard White will be a minor charcater in the new Superman film so hopefully James Marsden will be able to do both roles so that he can return for X-Men 3!

Appartently is not offical that Nick Stahl is going to playing Angel in X3 as it has now been reported on Moviehole that Ben Foster (Hostage, The Punisher, Six Feet Under) is now up for the role!
