X-Men 3

Filming started in June with a view to be released in May 2006, which is a stupidly tight schedule, and why Joss Whedon turn it down, and Matthew Vaughn quit early on.

I'm not very convinced by those 'spoilers', by the way. Sorry.

Appartently Fox are still aiming for a May 2006 release as they want X Men 3 to start production next summer. So with Fantastic Four, Electra and Batman next year and hopefully X men and Ghost Rider in 2006 and maybe Spiderman 3 and Hellboy 2 in the future. It looks like we will be enjoying comic book films every year for a long while!

Such a shame they gotta cut it short for the cinema just to cram in more screenings though, guess theres still proberly more money to be made with the DVD release, adding deleted scenes in there will mean many will run out and buy it.

It will also force the bosses high up to release Xmen 4 faster ;)

Apart from, of course, the special USA edition which has 2-discs , all the extras AND a limited edition graphic novel containing re-prints of X-Men comics chosen by Stan Lee.

My copy arrived last Monday and I'm very happy with it.....

This is the trouble with sequels....the fact that when they get different actors in to play the same roles....it just doesn't seem right...and also tenRAB to spoil the film as well. Halle Berry not being in X-men 3...could very well be a disaster. In my opinion..Halley made the X-men films..as did Claire Danes..the one who took Rogue.

These kind of films are just up my street though really..because I love sci-fi films of this type..I think they are excellent. Would love the sequels to carry on going..but having original actors dropping out of the films might hurt the amount it takes at the box office..because it might not appeal to the audience with different actors playing the same roles.

Marvel have confimed that X Men 3 is scheduled for release on May 22nd, 2006 in America. Avi Arad also said that the script for the third film is on par, if not better than the first two films and that Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are back for X3!

There does seem to be confusion on the American forums about their DVD though. It's being advertised on tv with 10 deleted scenes and 1 disc. It would seem weird if they never got what we have, so it makes sense what you say.

Figures alot now so they make the films small purposley so they have more screenings and more dosh !

Also same figures with the extended DVD due this xmas what better combination every kid on this planet will have one in his stocking.

Thats also one thing I didnt understand they introduced alot of new mutants (bad mainly) and then phoniex just turned all of them to ash ? Either they were going with the flow it was truely the last outting for them or then they changed there mind quickly with that secret last scene which just boggles the head really.

I suppose with the films they gotta fit the entire Marvel world somehow in 2 hrs so guess alot have to die :(

Marsden is expected to return as Cyclops. I dont' see how his character can only be in it as a cameo, Jean becomes Dark Phoenix and Cyclops is one of the key characters in that story. I can't wait for X3!

Here is some more from that interview with Lauren Shuler Donner:

She talked about the storyline which is still what we expected it to be:

"It will follow the Dark Phoenix thread, with new storylines and characters."

She also confirmed that Wolverine will only happen with Hugh Jackman and there has never been any talk of replacing him:

"No! No! I would never go with a different Wolverine. In fact, we met, Benioff and Hugh and I, and Benioff told him the story and Hugh loved it. Hugh’s on board. Hugh knows the whole samurai story. I gave him those comics, he read those, so in the future he’s onboard with those also."

Shohreh Aghdashloo who is known as Dina Araz on the TV series 24 and also from the film House of Sand and Fog has joined the cast of X-Men 3. She will play a character named Dr. Rao. In the comics, Doctor Kavita Rao was a world-renowned geneticist who apparently developed a serum that would cure mutants of their mutations!

Hey, c'mon though - get real about the shortness of the film guys. Of course they try to keep it short so that the multiplexes can make more money. Of course they are going to try to add more material to the DVD release so that they can make more money out of it. At the end of the day, movie making of this scale is about one thing and one thing only - making money. Yes they may say they need to honour the characters and please the fans - but at the end of the day they only do that to make more money.

So if you don't like the fact that the DVD will have added material to encourage you to buy it, just boycott it - v simple...!
