X-Men 3

I remember her casting being a big thing, especially in terms of such a fan favourite such as "Psylocke" being involved. I remember when the confirmed cast of returning characters was at a ridiculously low number (basically just Wolverine, Jean, Magneto and Xavier) they'd penned Psylocke as a big addition.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if a significant amount of action packed deleted scenes show up on a DVD. As others have said before, one of the main reasons why X-Men 3 was so short was so they could accomodate many screenings of the movie per day and earn the most in box office. Also, such a packed DVD release is almost guranteed to make a huge profit.

The only problem about doing a prequel film would be getting the actors and actress back to be in a prequel which I cant see them doing. The only reason Cyclops wasnt in X3 much was because of James Marsden involvement in Superman Returns!
I still think apart from the spin off films currently in devlopment the other good idea is a film focussing on the younger mutents such as Iceman, Rogue, Pyro etc with cameos from Magento and Prof X!

The 'rumour' began with me. I spoke to John Bruno, the Visual Effects Supervisor. He oversaw every scene and was very familar with the script and cast. He said it was Patrick Stewart on the table and the reason why Moira was looking after him was because he was Charles' twin brother. He said that if X3 was a success, then the final scene was to lead onto X4's plot. Patrick Stewart will be playing the twin.

X-Men: The Last Stand might or might not be the finale for the franchise, but, either way, it does figure to be Halle Berry's swansong as Storm.

After three X-Men films and Catwoman, Berry said she is hanging up her super-hero duRAB.

"I don

Its seems to be dragging on for ages with the new director for X Men 3 and I would not be surprised if when the sort out a new director then half the cast has already comitted to other films. I will be very surprised if this film is released in 2006 but all we can do is wait and see!

I still hope we get more sequels, I think its such a shame Cyclops charactor wasnt panned out more considering hes the leader of the Xmen. But the way the 3rd films left it, its like Cyclops could possibly return it hasnt been mentioned it was him in particular the phoniex killed ;) Xavier can be up and walking again in no time.... Jean.... a phoniex rising from the ashes a 2nd time?

The only issues I see is as its said before some of the actors are getting a bit too wrinkley, but thx to that CG it might take care of it....

Interview with Patrick Stewart on X3...

"With regard to the script for the third X -MEN movie, he feels that fans of the movie series will not be disappointed. "The script, I believe, is the best script of the three." he said "It's very intense, it's very emotional, it's very personal about the individuals that we've already got to know in the first two movies. It has some astonishing set-piece sequences. It has a number of quite significant deaths. [From] what I've seen so far, I think, it's likely to be extraordinary. Some absolutely outstanding work is happening in Vancouver - including from some of the new people who've come onboard ranging from Kelsey Grammer to Vinnie Jones, who are now part of the X-MEN family, If anyone saw Brett's RED DRAGON, which I thought was an outstanding film, I don't think they have any reason to be nervous."

The rest of the interview can be found HERE

James Marsden will return for X3 but it will only be in a cameo role because of his part in Superman as well!
Beast has already featured in the previous films in a brief second cameo in human form on the TV so they may just use the same actor who played him in the cameo!

It looks like Joss Whedon may still have a chance of directing the new X Men film according to X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner:

"I'm a huge fan of Joss'," Lauren said. "Nothing is certain yet."

Also she talked about the Wolverine spin-off film:

"The plan is to do more of an origin story for Wolverine. The first one. If that’s successful, my deepest desire – I’m not reflecting Fox but you never know – my deepest desire is after the origin story, which David has worked out beautifully, it’s really good – if that works, the second one could be the Mariko, ninja story."

I know there is a different outcome for Beast, Rogue and probably Wolverine.
Beast stays at the school instead of going back into Politics.
Rogue doesnt take the cure.
Wolverine leaves and end up back in the bar, we first saw him in X-Men 1. It would set up for the Wolverine Movie.

The deleted scenes are more of the final battle and more character developing scenes.

I went and saw this yesterday and have to admit that I was hugely disappointed with the way the film developed.

They had a very good cast, but quickly got rid of characters, Cyclops, Professor Xavier, Rogue, Mystique, and the characters that they introduced, Archangel, Beast, may as well have been cameos as their storyline was so small as to be virtually non-existent.

Initially I was hugely disappointed when I heard the confirmation that my all-time favourite X-men character (Gambit) wasn't going to be in X-3, but having now seen it, I am glad that they didn't spend time casting someone who would have done the part justice only to use him for a few blink and you'll miss them scenes.

Halle Berry, yep, she's not in so much demand now, but has anyone considered that the reason behind this is that she is past her acting prime. Monster's Ball was a good film, and she was good in the first two X-men movies because she wasn't such an important character, but this was a 'dial in' part.
