X-Men 3

I would be very surprised if Wolverine or Storm will feature in X4 if it does it does ever happen especially for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine as after X3 he is filming the Wolverine spin off film so I can imagine the last thing he would want to do stay as Wolverine for X4!

X3 writer Zak Penn did state in a interview when asked:

"Halle Berry says X3 is the third in a trilogy; does everyone else view this as a final film?
ZP: Third in a trilogy does not mean the final film."

I can see X4 if it happens concertrating on the younger mutants rather than the major ones from X1, X2 and X3!

Can anyone hunt out that article that came out on RAB a few months ago which stated how Vinnie Jones found the make-up and stuff for Juggernaut annoying but im sure it said he had signed up for X-men 4 & 5...Anyone remember?

Yes and no.

Yes they are bringing out 2 movie spin oRAB in one year, but not 2007. It'll be 2008 at the earliest.

And it won't just be Magneto and Wolverine either. Young X-Men and Emma Frost will also be getting spin oRAB after.

Damm you beat me to it as I have just read that as well!
At least they are starting with a script and it seems that all the rumours about Joss Whedon are untrue but he might still be on the list of directors. We might get to see X Men 3 in 2006!

They seem like they are yeah. In one scene Storm creates a wave and it does look a bit unfinished, up until the actual real water comes in and washes away the mutants. I think at least two don't have music behind them when I think they should. "Beast breaks a Neck" and "Bobby freezes Phat". Those two look finished and good! :D Ooh imcorporate them eh? *pays for a copy* :p

Nope, it's just a rumor. She was also rumored for the Fantastic Four as Sue Storm, so my guess would be her agent is throwing her name around as being interesting to see if anything sticks. :)

Personally I don't see her fitting Storm. Still think Jada Pinkett-Smith would be a good choice. :)

Did you not think that standing silently like that throughout the film added to her scaryness? I thought it was quite effective, she definately looked menacing, and no one would have stood a chance with her in any way!

Yeah, the actress (who's actually had a lot of attention worldwide and done loaRAB of interviews) has been quoted as saying something like "don't even bother to try and spot me in the film- blink and you'll miss me." I think she, and the fans had hoped it'd led to more films with her. Still can if she did teleport like the book suggests.

Famke Janssen has recently talked about X-Men 3 and possible storylines:

Q:Any talk on the future of the X-Men Franchise and are you involved?

FJ: Don't know quite yet, but yes probably.

Q: Have you spoken at all about [X-Men]

FJ: I have heard things and there developing the script right now and Phoenix is part of that script.

Q:No mention on the director?

FJ:There looking for a director.

Q:Would work again with original , Mr. Singer?

FJ: Oh I would, certainly, yes, I think he made those movies, both of them.

Q:The decision of who will direct that the third film have any bearing on whether or not the cast will in fact
return or are you pretty much committed irrespectively who the director is.

FJ: Some people are irrespectively because of the fact that they signed contract and some people can renegotiate so I am sure it has to do with a bunch of different things, paychecks, directors, choice of directors stuff like that.

Q:But you wouldn't want to do a sequel just for the sake of doing a sequel, are you contractually obligated?

FJ: I am not contractually obligated. I wouldn't want to do sequel for the sake of sequel. I would definetley hopefully if there's a good director involved or the character is fun to play or maybe i need to do some renovations to do to my apartment in NY or whatever, (laughter) , it depenRAB, I cant lie, I need to make money.

Q:The Phoenix character is a very complicated character, I think it would be a very fun character. Have you heard that the next movie will revolve strongly around Phoenix like Wolverine revolved round X-2.

FJ: I've heard things like that but at the same time I'm realistic about knowing that there going to have to give people a big chunk of that movie if they want them to come back so with that movie and there also new characters to be introduced and that is always a little tricky. If it's anybody movie ever it's Wolverine's movie because that just the number one X-Men character. We'll see, from what I heard yes she a big part of it.

Q:Dr. Jean Grey, your character was such a strong character in the second film. For the audience they might see a different Storm, another actor doing Storm. But to see to see someone else doing the Phoenix. Are you inclined to do it?

FJ: I would have a hard time giving it up to somebody else just for that matter. for that reason. I am to much of a control freak. So I don't know if can know if I can handle seeing someone else play her.

Q:Have you been preparing yourself by reading old comic books, Phoenix or anything.

FJ: No, once we get the full green light Iwill, but any of that kind of stuff feels just like you kinda jinx it and you get your hopes up.

Q:After playing her a few times do you ever get curious and if you see a comic book the stand do you ever look at where they are taking your character in the comic books, or is that not of interest to you?

FJ: No I never do any of that, I never been a comic book reader. It's seem very complicated to me with the pictures and the little bubbles (Laughter). I have always read novels, I understand that but comic books are never understood very well (laughter).

Q:Has Joss Whedon's name still been thrown out there as one of the possible directors?

FJ: It's been thrown out there but I'm not sure how real that is.

Q: We keep bringing it up, are you keeping your slate open for X-Men, I think they are saying June July will be a start date.

FJ: Yeah that's from what I understand but obviously if something else comes along but I think that is when the studio will probably jump in and try to firm up the deal

So it looks like it is definatly the Dark Phoenix saga!

Marvel have confimed that X Men 3 is scheduled for release on May 22nd, 2006 in America. Avi Arad also said that the script for the third film is on par, if not better than the first two films and that Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are back for X3!

The X-Men 3 DVD is expected sometime in Autumn, probably October and will apparently have:

  • 21 deleted scenes
  • 3 alternate endings
  • Director Brett Ratner Commentary
  • 2 hours behind the scenes documentary

You can watch the 7 minute clip in normal quality on dell.com.

Other sites have random clips as well. One is of young Jean being visited by Xavier and Magneto, another is of Storm's nephew Spyke fighting against Wolverine.

Everyone's saying it's too short, which I think it the major complaint, it's certainly mine.

Fox do this for 2 reasons; firstly it means they can have more screenings in a day, and secondly so people buy the dvd and then get the extended 'directors cut'. It happened with DareDevil, Elektra and Alien V Predator. I'm not sure if the last 2 are out in the UK, but the extended DareDevil is a much better film.

I believe Rebecca Romijn said she is done with the blue make up, and asked to be written out. Can't blame her, I think it takes hours to put on and hours to take off.
Saying that, the Cure turned out to be only temporary, so she can come back if she wants. Just won't be with Magneto next time...

James Marsden who plays Cyclops in the X Men films has been cast as Richard White who is Lois Lane’s love interest in Superman. So it looks like X Men 3 may be in trouble with James Marsden being cast in Superman as both films are too be released in 2006 and Cyclops has a major part in the Dark Phoenix saga which is rumoured to be the main storyline for X Men 3!

DVD is out on Monday!

I just finished watching it, since I ordered my copy from Play.

22 deleted scenes and 3 alternative endings!

UK should consider themselves lucky! The USA only get the one disc edition, with half as many deleted scenes!

;5366724']I am quite disappointed that they have not made Katie Stuart, "Kitty Pride" in X3. She is so perfect for it as she is in many things.
