X-Men 3

Are the deleted scenes finished? As in with music score, SFX etc. Cos I may have a play and re-incorporate them (I'm a reasonable digital editor for an amateur) if they are.

Simon Kinberg to Write X-Men 3.

The Hollywood Reporter says that 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios are moving forward with X-Men 3, hiring screenwriter Simon Kinberg to write the script!

For the studio, he previously wrote "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, did a rewrite on Jennifer Garner's Elektra, and also a rewrite for director Tim Story's Fantastic Four.

Kinberg told the trade that the storyline is still being hammered out.

"I'm a religious reader of the ('X-Men') comics, and I loved the first two movies," Kinberg said. "I had a great experience with Fox and Marvel on the other projects, and when they came to me and asked me if I had any interest in 'X3,' I was ecstatic. I grew up on them, and I love these comics, and it's exciting to take a whack at making the third the biggest and best in the trilogy; it's our 'Return of the King."'

The film's producers are eyeing a summer start and are starting to meet with directors to replace Bryan Singer, who helmed the first two "X-Men" movies. Deals have yet to be worked out for the actors to return, but they are all expected to reprise their roles.

Yeh I cannot wait for what I think X Men 3 is leading onto, that being the fantastic Phoenix Saga. A shame Brian Singer has turned it down, the first two were brilliant.

Does anyone reckon they'll cover the Dark Phoenix aswell in the 3rd movie? they dont' always stick to the comic guidelines.

I'd love to see Rogue get her super strength and flying ability.

But they have to be training against a Sentinal for a reason. Beast works for the Government, so he could have uncovered the plans and given them to the X-Men to practise on.

Don't you mean "don't you mean the cure isn't permanent?"? :D :D

Saw the movie this afternoon and loved it. I'm baffled by the mediocre reviews it's been getting. Lots of action, lots of story, and great performances all round.

As for X4 ......

Cyclops body wasn't found, so he could be back. Professor X transferred his consciousness, so he could be back. Magento's powers are returning, so he could be back. If Magneto's powers are returning, so might Rogue's, so she could be back. Same for Mystique, so she could be back. And it seems it's impossible to ever really kill Jean Grey (judging by the comics anyway), so she could be back!

Everyone knows this is going to suck
Ratner RAB!!
I was quite happy with the idea of Vaughn handling it, no matter how poor the script seems, but Ratner won't make a silk purse out of this sow's ear.

At least its not Joss Whedon.

It all sounRAB good, and Brett Ratner has confirmed on at least two occasions that
the Sentinals appear!

It seems they have all got over the 'last'ness of The Last Stand, and have planned quite a few sequels and spin-oRAB, which is good.

If it continues for another 3 movies (excluding the spin oRAB) who do you think would be the prime new character introduced?

X-Men- Wolverine, Rogue
X-Men 2- Nightcrawler, Colossus
X-Men 3- Beast, Angel
X-Men 4- Gambit, Emma Frost
X-Men 5- Polaris, Havok
X-Men 6- Forge, Morph

I actually can't think of any big members of X-Men that could join beyond that.

The good thing about these films is that one member can appear in one film and not the next, we have so many characters now, that it doesn't really matter.

I really think they want an X4, but I dont think they can have it without Professor X, Jean, Cyclops, Magneto, Rogue and Mystique!

Cyclops could be replaced by Gambit on a powers-scale, as they are both longer-range attackers. Although Gambit's relationship with Rogue would be lost.

Magneto seems to have power left, so would just need to develop it further.

Rogue cant really be replaced, Kitty just doesnt have the power that Rogue has/had. Unless they make it so that Rogue didnt actually have the cure, and has found another way to control her powers.

Jean isnt really replaceable, but I'm not familiar with Psylocke, so she might be similar.

Prof. X wont be back as himself, but he would be Dr. McTaggart's patient, with his own original powers - maybe they could recreate his original body or something!?

Yeah, it'd be do-able. In fact, they used similar software in the scene where Xavier and Magneto go round to Jean's house in the first flashback scene. I couldn't really see it myself, but a certain CGI was added to take off a few years off of both actors. I did notice the pair looked a little younger, but i put it down to a lot of time in the make up chair, lol.

Yeah ditto Stan lee has that control, I think we all saw when wolvy/storm were sitting on the settee and they were both up for Xmen4 but I do wonder if it was purely of the money or did they enjoy it like.

I think cos storm kicked up a fuss she was barely used in the films maybe in part 4 give her a line or 2 and thats it....

They can so easily write a script thats without picard/gandalf between the both of them they proberly take home the biggest cheque!

edit: Proberly Storm does !

Jada Pinkett as Storm? Please a gust of her own wind would blow here over! Anyway, Halle Berry IS returning as Storm so it doesn't matter.

Well the last I read Kim Basinger and Jessica Biel were both being sounded out for Wonder Woman. But it will be one of the hottest female roles so I imagine all sorts would go for it.

Marvel cooler than DC? - sounRAB like Marvel fanboy talk to me! :)

You can always reinvent characters just like Alan Moore's versions of Batman and other people's more recent versions of Superman. They don't have to remain as two dimensional as they were originally. Not that Batman ever was.

As for X-Men 3, bring it on but let's not have their powers raised again. Jean almost turned godlike in X-Men 2.

It really wouldn't bother me a jot if Halle Berry couldn't do X4. I think she's a bit rubbish as Storm anyway - a bit weak willed and girly. For me, the key characters are Professor X, Wolverine, and Jean Grey / Phoenix. The rest are fairly disposible and they could bring new ones in whenever they like.

But who will be playing the new characters.

Will beast be a "Hulk/Banner" type thing. I hope they get some one who can act, because there are a couple of guys (Wrestlers / stuntmen / bodybuilders) that big to play the role but most probably wont have the acting experience.

Is Cyclops (Marsden) back, I'm not sure if it would be good because Gambit seems to be a mixture of Wolverine and Cyclops

Any ideas????

X Men 3 director Brett Ratner is said to be considering a addition to the cast of X3. The new character will be a beautiful woman who secretes a highly intoxicating pheromone that allows her to bend any man to her will. The Sun is reporting that Venus and Serena Williams are competing for the role of the role of the mutant Pherma. An insider on the production said: “Brett feels either of the girls would be fantastic for the role, which is a superhero who oozes sex appeal.

“Her great power is the ability to seduce anyone.”

Avi Adrad has also been talking again about X3. He confirmed that Maggie Grace is out as Kitty Pryde and he hinted that it had something to do with her TV schedule. He said that we should here soon who is replacing her "Tuesday", he says. He also talked about who is playing Angel as Arad said that Mike Vogel was up for it but his schedule clashed. "He decided to go with the Poseidon Adventure". He also talked about the situation with Alan Cumming and why isn't he back as Nightcrawler "This film has like ten new mutants, and some of them are like mind-****ing characters", says Arad. "We have to move on. In our story bringing someone in who is not from the immediate leadership does not serve the story".

Arad also hints that Xavier may die in the movie. "He died in the comic. One of the most famous panels in the comic was his funeral. They all die and come back. We don't kill anyone just for the hell of it only if it works for the story".

Dawn of the Dead director Zack Snyder is one of several names on a shortlist of six apparently for directing X-Men 3 and we should expect an annoucement soon!
