LOL I know just what you mean! I was looking forward to a good old bit of girl-power too, and although I loved the film, I did feel a bit cheated at how downplayed Phoenix was, relative to her power and significance. The power of a goddess, and she mostly just hangs around looking like she has PMT!
(No disrespect intended to Ms Janssen - nothing wrong with the acting at all, I just wanted her to have more kick-ass screen time)

Yeah that was the original plan by Bryan Singer before he jumped ship to Superman. Since he left lots of his idea for X Men 3 have come out including that Sigourney Weaver would have played Emma Frost in X-Men 3 if Bryan Singer had still been directing it!
In this film the Government approve the use of 'the cure', which cures the mutants of their gene defect. When Jean Grey comes back as the Phoenix Magneto uses her to lead the mutants against the cure and start war with the humans.
Boliver Trask, creator of the Sentinals, is in this film as a government advisor. I think he sees the Sentinals as the only resort against them.
From the clip, the X-Men do fight a Sentinal, but this could just be in the Danger Room simulator.

What a bummer - can you imagine how excited you'd get to be cast in X3. You film for months and think this is your big break and launch into stardom. And then most of your work enRAB up on the cutting room floor... Not just a bummer - MAJOR bummer!
I have a feeling that a lot of her scenes won't even make it into the deleted scenes version of the DVD. A lot of them will have just been in a really early, rough, rough cut.

Jada would sooo kick ass as Storm, we've already seen her in action in the Matrix movies.

Appartently I read that the body that Professsor X inhabits at the end of X3 is the one of his twin brother but I think this rumour is just rubbish!

Appartently the roles of Angel and his father still remain uncast despite reports and as does Gambit who will be a minor character in X3.
A teaser for X-Men 3 is expected to be in US cinemas with Fantastic Four but it has not been confirmed if it will be shown in UK cinema when Fantastic Four is released over here!

I am a HUGE fan of the X-Men movies and i detest vinnie jones, is he definately definately on board.

I'm undecided as to whether this film is that good or not.
It's more entertaining than the first, but not as the second.
Too many secondary characters were introduced, given too much screen time, and then just killed off, meaning their whole inclusion in the film was a little pointless (if a forth is ever made).
Saying that, It was nice to see both Storm and Jean get more screen time, and Storm was at her best and how she should have been from the first movie.
I loved Beast too! Very well cast, and used in the right way, although considering the few remaining X-Men left by the final fight, it would have been nice if they'd played on Beast's previous affiliation with the group more.
Iceman was okay, Rogue very underused, Kitty Pryde....annoying, and the actress really got to me for some reason! lol. i think it's because she acted as though she was in something grander than a comic book movie, the scene where she's in the class room was a little out of place.
I couldn't believe they more or less wrote Mystique out of the franchise! She was one of the best characters in the movies, and should have been given more screen time on her own before she was transformed back into a human.
Action was great though, special effects top notch. But it was too short. Scenes were cut together too fast, and it all seemed a bit of a rush. I could have handled a half hour more dialogue if the film had more narrative because of it, i mean it worked well enough in the second movie.
I'm looking forward to seeing it again, which must mean i like it i suppose, lol

Avi Arad has been talking about Marvel upcoming films and he gave a update on X3:
"Going to the future...we are feverishly working on X-MEN! The cast is IN. We will shortly announce the director. This week was active, because everyone was in this week for Oscar. Our choices are very interesting. X-Men is a drama, and we want to get it right for X3. An announcement will come very soon!"
So it looks like we wont have to wait long to see who the new director of X3 will be!

Dont belive that at all there maybe no "offical" news of X4 but after X3 and its success im sure by now they broke even and are profiting... even more so when the DVD gets released they will proberly end up making even more money then they did at the box office !
And with that secret scene towarRAB the end, patrick stewart saying hes hanged up his starfleet uniform hes prepared for Xmen all the way, Jonathon Woss show had Halle/Hugh on and they both said if they get the chance for the 4th they will only be too happy to do it.
Its a must I reckon, still I can see why after it cost them 220 mill to make X3 why they maybe a tad reluctant to make the next.... but hey they wont be saying that after the DVD sales.

New cast members for X3 are Michael Murphy (Batman Returns) as Warren Worthington, Sr who is the father of Angel (Ben Foster), and Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense) as Dr. Moira MacTaggert who I believe was someone who had a love affair with Professor X in the comics!
