x box 360 wireless headset?

Hope someone can help my son has a wireless headset and he says it keeps changing channels. Sorry know nothing about these sort of things but he switches it on and the number one green light on the headset flashes which is fine and he can chat but then it goes off and goes onto the second green light. Sorry im not very good at this sort of thing can anyone help
