x box 360 wireless adapter?

has anybody tried any other wireless adapters for the x box besides the actual Microsoft one they sell for the x box. the x box brand adapter sells for 100 dollars and you can get the ones for computers for 30 dollars, they both have usb hook ups and look like the same thing but the guy at best buy said it wouldnt work without the x box one. has one one tried the computer ones on x box?
