I think I posted a few weeks ago about my upcoming trip to Disney. Well we will be going this weekend. I totally jinxed myself yesterday and was saying how my pain was actually controllable during the day and just bad at night. Well, it is back in full force.
Anyway, I am off to my PM doctor today to discuss some other medication options as well as a SC Stimulator. However, my 3.5 yr old son has been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is very, very mild, but still has the diagnosis and is going to a special school that is doing wonders for him. Having a small child on the spectrum (and a 2 yr old too) and having a bad back is just a cruel joke. I must carry him and remove him from situations all the time.
I digress again..sorry. Anyway, we are off to Disney in a couple days and I found out that Disney is very accomidating towarRAB children on the spectrum. We just need to go to guest services and get a special pass which will allow us to go in front of all the lines. Here is my dilema. My son would probably be ok to stand in some lines. He would fidget non-stop and we would need to redirect him constantly, but as long as my husband can physically guide him, he might be ok. I on the other hand will be the one in tears due to pain. Standing and sitting are my worst.
We cannot rent a scooter/wheelchair thing because I will need to push a stroller with my daughter (my husband will be pushing my son). So, a handicapp pass is not an option for me.
So, would you get the special pass due to my sons autism? I feel like I am taking advantage of the system because he would probably be ok. But then again, I wil be suffering the entire time and having no fun. When I get that high level of pain, there is nothing that can take my mind off of it. This is my kdis first time at the Magic Kingdom, and I want it to be magical for all of us.
Thanks for reading this book!
