And yet, the sctcommunity folks are the ones that stand to lose the most if this were a scam, considering a lot of them have been waiting for just this exact thing (edit: and have probably already signed up), am I wrong in assuming this? You yourself realized this and decided that that was the first place you should warn users to be weary of the tracker, as soon as it came up.

Well, basically feeling's opinion:

if u want to start ur own site, with new staff
why are you stealing the name of my torrent site?
why not make your own site?
and why are you lying and saying you are going to be installing backups soon
nobody has a copy of the scenetorrents database
if this site isn't a scam, why are you lying? its not nice lying to users, especially if you are asking them for donations.
simply stop lying about installing a backup of a database you dont have, and admit you have nothing to do with scenetorrents, and you will be left alone.

I kind of hoped ScT would really be back, but after looking at the bad English in their news page and rules I flagged it as a rip-off. Maybe even an attempt to cash on users, like Rart mentioned.
