WTF is wrong with my nokia n97?

Okay, so ive been living off my hiptop for 3years now until it died on me the other day. So i got a new phon, which was the Nokia N97. I havent even had this thing for a week... and it decides to turn off on me. I turn it back on it says "nokia" then turns off again (it was on charge the whole time) and i try to turn it back on again and it does nothing. Its just sitting there with a blank screen doing shit all.

help?
 
Does it charge when you plug it in? if not you may have a faulty charger, so you may not be chagrining it when you think you are. So when you turn it on your battery is dead.
