my wife bought for me on 2/10/08 (online) the Lingo w/the 55$ plan that had the Unlimited everything (Unlimited Web as well) + 100 Roaming.

Now my 1st free month is up, they have my plan as the 55$ still, but underneath i am being charged an additional $5 for Wap (making it 60$ total a month now basically/the $60 plan)

I just called and told them i was signed up for the $55 plan that had Unlimited Web.......now they do not even show it on the site as a plan anymore(yet i am on it?) and tell me they are sorry if i took that to mean that it had the Unlimited Web....
do they have a habit of changing things like this? truthfully i am about to just say screw it and get the 35 or 40 dollar plan i guess with just unlimited Calling. Text/Pix, Caller ID and Voicemail..thats really all i need anyways I have a Blackberry too that i might as well use for surfing anyway....

wap is 5 dollars extra on the 55 dollar plan. i used it for months. however some markets have little extra's for the plans. san diego has a 45 dollar plan with unlimited wap included. so i got 45 dollar plan + 5 flex + roaming code added.

55 + 5 wap = unlimited + wap + 100 mins roaming = 60/mo
45 + 5 flex + roaming code = unlimited + wap + roaming(.39c min) = 50/mo
 
it could have been an error. it sucks that it happened to you, but trust me ALL companies do it. complaining about 5 dollars for WAP is a little better than if you got a 2,500$ bill from AT&T due to data overages ;)

Now i have to figure out when to change it, because the guy said that what my bill is now (like $78) i think he said pay that bill on the 4/09/08 due date and then after make the change to my account. I told him i dont want to take off anything if i am paying for it then at this time. which i actually think i just screwed myself because before i spoke with him & posted here, i unchecked the 5.00 add on and probably disabled my WAP.

yea plans are like this generally:

45 dollars = unlimited + 411
50 dollars = unlimited + wap
55 dollars = unlimited + roaming

so you have to take one or the other, or just add the feature onto whatever plan you want. so you have 55 + wap = 60 + taxes = 65 or so. plan change would be +10 so 75.

honestly i'd set it all up correctly by going into a store. they can waive the 10 dollar plan change if you explain how its screwed up.
 
the standard 45 does not have 411. the 50 plan has both 411 and wap browsing. the $55 has NEVER had unlimited WAP included, but for a while there (last year) you could add it for $1. if the web site did show it, then it was an error. some people assume that it is included because the $50 plan includes it, which is not the case.
 
that plan enRAB today 3/13. it was available in:
Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Burlington, Charleston , Tulsa, Little Rock/Hot Springs/Pine Bluff, Jonesboro, Reno, San Diego, Visalia, Fresno, Austin, Houston, Bryan/College Station, Temple/Killeen

That $50 Plan you copied is one of the new ones that launched on 3-11.
The WAP was $5 on the old $55 plan.
You will be grandfathered in on the plan you signed up on...or you could migrate over to the new $50 plan if 30 mins of roaming will work for you.
 
well, i never said i knew everything. i now see the changes to ILD and international texting. however this is not a general market change, so i wasn't exactly wrong either was i?

So I am guessing that when i pay my bill on 4/9/08 i can immediately switch plans to the $50 that the site is advertising now with Unlimited WAP
I don't really need the 30 Roaming Minutes since i have another phone but it would cost me the same to do the $45 plan and add $5 WAP but then i would miss out on those minutes so....
i see you have to give something up or whatever but IMO that is clever marketing on CricKet's behalf....they still get that $$$
 
well other than the fact that it is 4/9 now... prorating really f's with crickets billing. i wish everything was just post dated, or they required payment upfront for proration. nothing beats a customer coming and paying a bill 1 month and 30 days after they add something and trying to explain to them why they are paying for 3 months worth of the feature all at one time. the billing is never wrong, but then i get the whole 'cricket is prepaid right? how do they give you something if you haven't paid for it first?' business and i want to sock some lady in the jaw.
 
yeah, i changed it Sunday when i got back in from a trip to Tennessee. I was starting to do it from my blackberry while i was away, because they took the money on Thursday or Friday of last week anyways.
I took the 50$ plan with Unlimited everything and 30 Min Roaming.
