It depends on your character? Do they live in America/Britain? If they live in America and have lived there for a long time then it's probably best to write the way you always do but if they have just moved to America or live in England then don't.
I'm English and we pretty much speak the same as you. However, some of the terms you use (e.g. i'm stoked - we say excited) we don't use so you may want to research some slang terms that we use and incorporate those into your wrtiting.

It also depends on where they are from in Britain. For example, people from London (in the south east) and people from Manchester (in the north) speak very different.
