Do you think JK Rowling or Stephenie Meyer or Dan Brown asked someone, "Hey, can you give me a plot idea?" and that person said, "Oh, sure, write about a boy wizard," or, "Vampires!" or "A secret code of Leonardo da Vinci?"
Do you get my point? Writing is about YOU making your own ideas. Not other people doing it for you...you can't be a writer or even call yourself one if you don't think of your own ideas.
So, here's what you do: Examine everyday life. Let's say you see someone talking on their phone, fighting with the speaker. Make it up! The person speaking discovered her boyfriend cheating and he's calling her to apologize. This, as cliche as it is, opens the door to millions of plots. Of course, you need to characterize the girl and the boy, define a setting, and write out a plot. It's pretty easy...
Another scenario...uh...you see a little girl crying and her mother standing next to her, looking mad/upset. Maybe the girl just said something to the mother. "I like Daddy more." This opens the door to backstory-the mother is abusive, he spoliers her, etc.
Understand? Writing is about 'what if.' Experiment with it, it's fun =]
