I am writing a poem to orate at my cousin's wedding. I have the idea of creating imagery with the specific flowers in the bouquet. I have been searching for traditional ways of writing an appropriate poem without it seeming like marriage advice. Can you give me any ideas or point me in the right direction? Thank you.
Here is a ROUGH draft of a few ideas:
Love like the petals of a vendela rose;
folded pollen and nectar.
Pluck apart like love-me-sos,
compose a dance floor out of the largest petal,
and slow dance to ballad rose bloom music;
husband, wife.
Love like the petals of a vendela rose,
enraptured; captured light
because only love is as tangible
as something unknowable, unforgettable.
Like the light between interlaced
and ringed fingers.
