I'm attempting to write a novel and this very important question came up. If I had a character that wanted to play professional football [soccer], would I have to create my own team or could I possibly use an existing one? I understand that you're not supposed to give bad publicity towards that team or use false information about a result or something and that's why I'm curious about this. I wouldn't intentionally harm anyone's reputation by doing this, I'm just trying to use one of the teams.
