writing a literary analysis on a poem?

okay well i am writing my essay but i am not sure how to write something. In a story, you have a narrator. in a speech you have a speaker. So if i want to talk about whoever is saying the poem which is the correct term to use? or is there another special poem term?
 
Since you are speaking about a poem it would be the narrator if the poem has one in it.

If you are speaking about the poet you would say the writer.

You also have those who recite poetry that is written by others. When "so and so" recited the poem "so" written by Frost, they brought to life the images...
