Writers, how long do you take to edit your book?

And when you think it's finished, aren't you afraid that in a year or so, you may come up with some new views which could improve it?

Very often I have found that happening. If you want to get it edited by a professional, I suggest that you Google it. I am currently writing a book, which the prologue is on my account page. I worry about the changes that I could make in a year or so.
Also, I suggest that when you are writing; ask yourself: Can you actually see the pictures that you want to see, not the words? Can other people see them.

It takes me about 3 to 6 months if it's a full length novel and yes, sometimes I do get nervous knowing that I could have thought of other ways to make it better and improve it. Yet, just being able to have it thoroughly finished is satisfying enough for me.
