I know someone who's still a stanger
Because I do not know her name
She passes by my house
And her routine stays the same
I say, "hello,' she nods and speaks
And was soon I realized
I knew her as my own reflection;
Her smile never reaches her eyes.
I leave her walk in privacy
To live in some long ago
This stranger that I haven't met
But yet still seem to know
I breathe a prayer for her though
In understanding sighs
When sorrow buries you so deep
That a smile can't reach your eyes.
Because I do not know her name
She passes by my house
And her routine stays the same
I say, "hello,' she nods and speaks
And was soon I realized
I knew her as my own reflection;
Her smile never reaches her eyes.
I leave her walk in privacy
To live in some long ago
This stranger that I haven't met
But yet still seem to know
I breathe a prayer for her though
In understanding sighs
When sorrow buries you so deep
That a smile can't reach your eyes.
