MIKESAVAGE

I posted a question about advice for first time riding in the rain,
every thing was good till some jackass cut off the truck in front of me and before i know it the truck was in my face so the only thing i could do is hit the brakes and slide my bike other wise i would of end up under that truck.

Thankfully I walked out with only elbow scratches and some knee bruises.

But my bike got it kinda bad. From what i seen only the left side got damage but it looks like small things the engine turns on and shift gears

its the gas tank is dented so im guessing im going to need a new one

the handle bars well i think its more than the handle bars because my light got push in so the light is facing down and the handle bars are lower to where they are supposed to be

the gear shifter and floor board is damaged but it still shifts gears so im guessing i just need to replace that

(should of gotten the engine guard)

so should i take it to the shop and let them inspect the motor what should the right words be for me to tell them that i basically just wanna know what its really damaged and if the engine is fine

from what i can remember when i fell the engine turnd off and when i got it back up i shift the gears down to be able to roll it and it turn on with no problem..

what else should i check?

if the bike hit something it wouldnt be too bad of an idea to have a shop do a wreck estimate,t hey will tell you what all parts are damaged. If it just slide for a little bit its mostly going to be cosmetic damage. The engine is probably fine, but you will probably want to get your handlebars replaced. And YES engine guards would definatly have helped with minimizing the damage. Replacing the gas tank will cost you the most $$$ if you can live with the dent I suggest you do cause its just going to transfer the dent to your wallet.
