Why not ask one of the ten richest people in the world to buy the company? Bill Gates could buy it out of petty cash!
Really, though, if GM became a wholly owned company on one individual it could turn around tomorrow.
How? Well for starters the termination of ALL of the 7+ figure money makers who have ruined the company while padding their personal accounts.
The brands need to be separated and competitive again.
Re-open all the closed plants that were just jobs sent overseas.
GM's biggest buyers were always their employees, cut the rug out from under your customer and SURPRISE no customer, no brain-er.
Dump live axles, dump drum brakes.

Thin out optional equipment
Own the supplier.
