constitutional amendment? If it became an amendment, it would first have been accepted by 3/4 of the states. If each state passed it by 50%+1 vote, then it would have become the law of the land by the votes of about 38% of the votes of the people. This should be easier than forcing Congress to take a stand with a very unpopular issue.

Yes Yes Yes These damn politicians are not capable of making a decision of this magnitude. Kick Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed and the other radicals the hell out of our government.
 
An amendment that says the people are no longer responsible for themselves, or an amendment that allows the govt to control 1/6 of the economy, or would it say that the govt has the right to mandate what is covered and how much it will cost, or would the amendment outlaw unhealthy lifestyles? Really, have you thought this out?
