...more than $10 million a year? to have to pay 50% tax on any portion of their income that is over $10 million per year?

I am curious to see how many ordinary joes will fight tooth and nail to protect the ultra rich.

Ordinary americans are such a strange bunch.
By the way, to drive home my point, can you say about how much your annual salary is at the end of your answer?

No one has a right to take 50% of someones income in this way. In many cases the work that the person has done to create that income has already provided many many jobs for other people. They probably are already paying their way.

No. Taxes should be the same for everybody. Increasing the rate simply because someone makes more money is punishment for making more money.

Flat tax is the only fair tax. And a flat tax would eliminate much of the expense of the IRS by eliminating the need for tax forms(and filing) for the majority of citizens. And that would mean fewer employees sucking up tax dollars through paychecks and benefits.

No.

They are the ones that invest and create new jobs.

"Nasty", above, has got it right.

Welfare Democrats are very jealous of the rich.
But....... they Bow Down to Rich Democrat Politicians.

Go figure.........

Who mean the people who already pay the lion's share of the total tax burden and whose share of that total tax burden is twice the % of the total wealth they control?

No I wouldnt support that.

A progressive rate of tax is what built the middle class in this country,in order for them to have the environment that enables such growth in profits is rarely noticed by most folks.
Police departments to keep order, fire departments to save property, roads for transportation and mainly a stable government.
The good fairy doesn't provide services for free.
Large pools of capitol have accumulated by the well to do,made possible by the millionaires club that is sent to washington to do the business of us all.do the tables seem tilted?
What most fail to see is that all good comes from labor, not management paper shuffling,at what point did labor become unfashionable, when did; get-up and go to work become bad.
A fair wage for a days work, what is more irreplaceable than a day of your life.
I'm a trucker, owner /operator and yes things are tight financially

$35,000 a year income. No I think the guy making 10 million dollars a year should be taxed at the same rate they are right now, which I believe is a top margin of 35%.

Since the richest pay a percentage, they pay a tremendous amount now, right. What do they do with the money they earned, but can't really spend...you know, that extra $100 million?

How much did you make last year? What percentage went to charities? What of value did you create? How many jobs did you provide? What products and services did you deliver that make our lives easier, or more entertaining, communicate better, or heal sickness?

Seems you're awfully concerned with others money, but likely don't provide anything of real value. Just a guess, but an educated one.
