i have 4 boys one aged 5 one aged 3 and a half one 24 months and one 4 weeks. i live with my husband i'm 35 and his 39. we both believe in smacking children . we tried naughty step and time out nothing like that worked. today my husband smacked our 3 year old. he started misbehaving in the supermarket demanding sweets. i would turn my back to get something from the shelf and find he has pushed the trolley with my 4 week old son in it half way down the isle. hurting his brothers jumping on freezers . my husband pulled his arm and gave him 2 hard smacks across his bottom. i did feel a bit guilty even though it wasn't me who smacked him because he was crying so much. he cried but he did behave after. my husband held his wrist the rest of the way round the shop to stop him misbehaving. was he too hard as i say it brings the children under control. so yes we believe in smack. do you think its too hard or would you smack a child in that same situation.
